BAND/RHYTHM SECTION EXPERIENCE Extensive experience in rhythm sections and bands ranging from trios up to big bands, in addition to playing the key rhythm section chair in many of the shows listed above. Pianist for many years in the Movin’ and Groovin’ Orchestra, a popular Melbourne- based 18-piece big band playing a wide repertoire of Swing and Latin music. I also wrote arrangements for the band. Pianist in the B# Big Band, another popular Melbourne big band. Music Director of the ten-piece band Austin and the Shagadelics, inspired by the ‘Austin Powers’ movies. The repertoire consists of songs of the 1960s and 70s made popular by performers/writers such as Burt Bacharach, Sergio Mendes, Tom Jones and Barry White. Experience in many jazz and Latin bands, performing at jazz venues such as Bennetts Lane and Dizzy’s and at festivals such as the Melbourne International Festival and Monsalvat. My band has also been used by corporate clients such as Yves Saint Laurent, Estee Lauder, Jaguar, and the Australian Fashion Industry Awards. Other bands I have played in include: • So Nice, a ten piece Latin/60s pop band • Blame it on the Mambo, a Latin American band playing Afro-Cuban and Brazilian music • The Escalators, a funk dance band. I also work as a solo pianist, having an extensive classical and jazz repertoire. In 1992 I was a finalist in the National Jazz Piano Awards, part of the Wangaratta Jazz Festival. ACCOMPANYING I have worked as music director or accompanist for many singers in a range of cabaret, concert or club settings, including: • Caroline O’Connor • Marina Prior • John O’May • David Campbell • Shelley Scown • Nichaud Fitzgibbon • Jane Clifton • Alyce Platt • Emma Franz • Lisa Roberts • David Williamson • Michael Howard Smith

Regular performances with my jazz group on TV shows such as ‘Hey, Hey it’s Saturday’ and ‘In Melbourne Today’.
