Description
Polymer concrete can be described as combination of binder, fine and coarse aggregates with various other fillers when required. Polymer as admixture can improve properties like higher strength and lower permeability than the conventional concrete. In this study, the properties of two types of polyester resin which is Isophthalic and Orthophtalic had been investigated in different curing temperature to get compressive strength of polyester concrete. The objective of this study is to investigate optimum curing temperature on Isophthalic and Orthophtalic polymer concrete. Three different temperatures 30oC, 50oC, 70oC at the curing times of 1 hour, 3 hour, 6 hour and 16 hour were used in the present work. The various mechanical properties like density and compressive strength of concrete have been studied according to ASTM Standards. This study also shown that the Isophthalic resin with Palm Oil Fuel Ash (POFA) particle size of 45 µm obtain the optimum curing time in 16 hour at temperature 70oC on Isophthalic with compressive strength 65 MPa.
