  • 2. Six Sigma • The term “Six Sigma” was coined by Bill Smith, a senior engineer & scientist at Motorola in 80’s • Late 1970s - Motorola started experimenting its problem solving through statistical analysis • Motorola officially launched it’s Six Sigma program in 1987.
