It will be a Father / Son Central game between the San DiegoBlue Jays and the Tri Valley Giants. Joel Becker will be handling the play-by-play while hisDaily News TV show co-host, Amber Baleto will be conducting interviews from the dugouts.The MVP Media production crew has been working overtime to make this game as much likea regular telecast as possible. They will be using 6 different cameras for the broadcast, alongwith the ump cam (which will be attached to the home plate umpires mask).Today marks the final day of pool play games for the 55+ teams and for several teams theplayoffs have already started. Once again the ever important, runs allowed category is morethan likely going to determine a playoff spot for some teams. This TempleUniversity and Phillies fan has been marriedto his wife, Rachel for four years, and appre-ciates how spending a concentrated week at amajor tournament helps players really get toknow others in their league, thus strengthen-ing the ties between teams at home. Herecalls how Bret Binder helped them advanceto that 09 finals by pitching back to back complete games, throwing 309 pitches. Withonly 9 players on their roster, every guy hadto give all he could, and that experiencetaught them the value of a large roster for atournament. Matt’s hero in baseball is ChaseJones, former University of North Carolinaplayer who fought, and beat cancer. Chasenow raises funds for pediatric cancerresearch through the BaseBald Program forthe St. Baldrick’s Foundation.
