  • 2.  CRYSTALLOGRAPHY : Science of study of crystal study.  CRYSTAL : A homogenous solid formed by repeating 3dimensional pattern of atoms, ions or molecules & having smooth external surface 2
  • 3.  LATTICE- is a representation of crystal structure as an array of points in space.  UNIT CELL- is defined as the fundamental pattern of minimum number of atoms or molecules which represent the full character of the crystal.  LATTICE PLANES- parallel equidistant planes passing through the lattice points 3
  • 4.  PREMITIVE CELL : Atoms at the corners but not in the middle of phases , not in the centre of cell..  NON PREMITIVE CELL : 3 Types,  Body centred (I)  Face centred (F)  End centred (C) 4
